TEARSHEETS
"Racecar’s lyrics are brash and sensual, full of attitude and vibrant images that seduce inspiration. The music comes from a strong pop foundation, highlighted by haunting country influences establishing a powerfully dark ambiance. The songs on Racecar's debut are diverse and original." ----- VH1's Save The Music Foundation (May 2006) "The man behind the wheel of Racecar delivers a unique blend of pop-folk-rock. Alyassin is a master, prolific and eloquent, his song crafting is timeless." ----- H.O.T. USA (February 2007) "Racecar's music is heavily influenced by 70's rock/pop where my thoughts go to Neil Young,Pink Floyd and Van Morrison. The majority of the album is acoustic based melancholic pop with folkrock vibes,it takes a while to get into the songs.....you need to let them grow and the most important thing - if you're not in the right mood, listen to something else instead coz this cd isn't something you have as background music." ----- Melodic Magazine (May 2006) BIO Racecar is an Alternative American Rock band. From the deserts of Santa Fe Racecar is riding a heat wave of measured success from their 2004 self titled release while quietly promoting their vital follow up album (Dance Like a Ghost). "Their moniker indicates speed and dangerous recklessness. But that doesn’t translate to their songwriting; this band composes passionate alternative pop-rock tunes that are fit for mainstream radio." (Smother Magazine 2006) Racecar's songwriter and producer David Alyassin is noted for receiving an "Excellence in Songwriting" award from VH1's Save the Music Foundation while competing with artists from Australia, Denmark, Israel & Germany. He also received an "Editors Choice" award from the International Library of Poetry. Feature articles about Racecar's music have been published by Skope Magazine, Kweevac Magazine, Lyrics Inc. Magazine, Smother Magazine, In Your Eyes Zine and Melodic Magazine. Racecar has received "Gold Artist" awards from KRGW and Radio Indy while climbing the national charts with songs like 'Mystical Ages' and 'Nothin' but a Dream'. David Alyassin has been interviewed by numerous radio stations including Artist First Radio and Streetblast Radio. Racecar is currently recording at Trinity Studios under the wing of Production Engineer and Composer Jeffrey Mettling who is a five time award winning recording artist with 16 nominations for "Best Musical Production" as recognized by the New Mexico Music Association. Jeff's own band Elu has received extensive acknowledgment commercially and continues to chart songs in the top ten around the world. Elu was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2006. Racecar sustains a vast and positive relationship with the indie community in hopes of piquing label interest. Distribution is currently handled by the band claiming over thirty digital stores while hundreds of radio stations & magazines worldwide continue to receive CDs and promo kits. The plan is to "hit that note", positively infuse and permanently alter the destiny of humanity with a little help from their friends. "Judging by the liner notes, Racecar has a strong conscience for human suffering and I'd like to see them go far in the music world." (Dagger Magazine 2006) Racecar continues to promote their 2008 release "Dance Like a Ghost". |
