From the deserts of Santa Fe, Racecar is riding a heat wave of measured success resulting from their widely recognized 2004 self-titled release and their award winning 2008 album Dance Like A Ghost. Dance Like a Ghost received an "Excellence in Songwriting" award from VH1's Save the Music Foundation and the album was also was awarded "Best Rock CD" by the New Mexico Music Awards; NMMA Judges include Rick Derringer who has played along side Jimi Hendrix & John Lennon. Other producers on Dance Like A Ghost recognized by the NMMA include Jeffrey Mettling & Andrew Click.
Alyassin received a "Gold Artist" award from KWRI while Racecar climbed international music charts with the songs 'Mystical Ages' & ‘Nothin’ But A Dream’. Recently Racecar was surprised to see material from the new album on the charts of American Idol Underground. Racecar’s Alyassin has been interviewed live by DJ Scott Z of Artist First Radio and DJ Honey Harris of New Mexico’s own FM station, KBAC. Feature articles about Racecar's music have been published by Smother Magazine & Italy’s In Your Eyes Zine.
Dance Like A Ghost was produced in Albuquerque, New Mexico at Trinity Studios by Grammy Nominee Jeffrey Mettling. The album was mastered by the talented Andrew Click of Santa Fe’s Stepbridge Studio; a world class recording facility used by the likes of Dan Fogelberg and The Indigo Girls. Racecar’s songs have been covered by J Ryan & Hands of Time.
Alyassin works tirelessly to maintain a positive relationship with the indie community in hopes of at some point placing a key song in film or TV. Racecar certainly would not mind closing an honest publishing deal as well. Distribution is currently handled by the band claiming over thirty digital stores while literally thousands of venues worldwide have received Racecar-Promo-Kits. Racecar currently performs at local Santa Fe establishments while promoting the new album.
